"Fees Have Increased so Much Since You Moved to Saratoga"

I hear the comment often that our fees are significantly higher since moving to Saratoga.

Comprehensive dentistry, implant dentistry and cosmetic dentistry are the most expensive treatment modalities in all of dentistry regardless of which dentist offers the treatment.

The fact is that my veneer/cosmetic cases are virtually the same as they were in Troy; And the same is true for full mouth reconstruction and implant related dentistry.

Yes my fillings cost $50 more than they used to but very few of my patients have crowns on non-root canal treated teeth. If I can save you $1000 by restoring your tooth with a strong bonded white (resin) filling, isn't it worth an extra $50?

The cost to operate our office is significantly more than it cost in Troy but my personal income has been the same OR LESS than when I was in my old office.

Just something to think about.

Still Looking

It is my wish to continue to work another 9 years and if my health continues as it is now, I will.
But I am constantly on the lookout for my potential successor  so that I will have 3-5 years of intense mentorship for the young man or woman who will follow me. I have made a promise to you that the dentist that will take my place will be competent and proficient in the area of diagnosis, treatment planning and fine restorative dentistry (fixing teeth and restoring implants.)

I currently have a young dentist who visits our office to observe and learn about what we do. Is she the person who will succeed me? I don't know but I am trying to fulfill my promise to you to find the best person possible to be your dentist.

This won't be easy but we will do this for YOU!

Good Deed for the Day

I was out for a ride on the Northway this evening when a tractor trailer suddenly moved from the right hand lane to the center. The driver did not realize that a car was in his blind spot when he moved to the center to avoid a broken down tractor trailer on the shoulder. The driver of the car became incensed and pulled five feet in front of the truck when the truck returned to the right hand lane. And then the car slowed down significantly so the truck moved to the center lane again but so did the car.

The driver in the car had road rage and his dangerous behavior could have resulted in the loss of life of several drivers but his intentional erratic driving continued for at least 5 miles. I took out my phone and took a photo of the car and license number and when I pulled off the Northway at exit 15, I called  911 to report the driver.

I am sorry, the driver of the car was completely out of control  and could have killed me and many others and I could not stand by and let this jerk get away with his immature behavior.
